About us

Ebenezer Prayer Group was formed as an Ecumenical Prayer group and its first prayer congregation was held at the residence of Mr. Thomas Koshy on 31 December 1998. 

The members of the Ebenezer Prayer Group have an important goal in their mind to ensure that every member of the Ebenezer Prayer Group is given equal and routine responsibility on its activities.  As members of the Ebenezer Prayer Group, we following and make sure that, this vision continues in the years to come.

The founder members of Ebenezer Prayer Group are Mr. Shajimon Samuel, Mr. John Thomas, Mr. Thomas Koshy, Mr. Regi Mammen, Mr. Easho, Mr. Sabu Cherian and Mr. Saji Thomas.

Our Mission

The mission of the EPG is to involve or promote the unity of Christian Churches and give wider and routine representation in the worship and day-to-day affairs eliminating gender and basic church denomination barriers.  In addition, the administrative center is established each year to ensure that all members including students participate in services to allow them equal participation to their capacities and that they have the opportunity to submit their potentials to the Almighty God.

By Grace of God

Our prayer group has no specific name until July 2002 and we gave a name "Ebenezer " to it, as proposed by our member Mrs. Shobna Rogi and agreed by all members. While the history of the group through the last ten (19) years shows advance and growth in various directions, it will be admitted that there is little room for complacency. In the life of the individual as well as the congregation, we lag far behind the standard set by our Lord. The Group is in need of renewal in Spirit in order to become more effective and useful instrument in His hands for the extension of His Kingdom.

The Group has now 53 members, divided into 17 families. It has a democratic pattern of administration with a Coordinator and a Trustee.  The Group actively participates in the programs of the charitable societies, Sunday school, VBS and other Christian organizations. Our regular congregation will be on every Friday evening and intercessory prayer at every Thursdays.

The EPG is financially independent and maintains its indigenous nature. Its regular works as well as special projects are almost entirely financed by contributions from its members at home.
